Hello again folks!

About making a dew shield, what is the best way?

Spring will come soon with clearer skies! :)

Dear Steve

The matter actually is not so sophisticated/complicated deal.

e.g. flexible and not too flexible dew Shields:

Would a sturdy plastic folder (папка) be ok to use?

Almost anything will do the trick. Yet plastic folder will probably be hard to bend into a circle. I prefer something soft, foamy. Like yoga mat or similar.

Sorry, one last question!

Will the dew shield be enough to prevent dew forming or will I need to get some dew heater straps at some point? In the UK some people say they don't need them. But if I do need them how much should I expect to spend on them together with an external power source?

Steve, I have much more experience with reflectors then with Maks, but imho you won't need so much of protection, at least if you don't have your observing site close to a river or lake. I suppose that any kind of dew shield will suite your needs. Anyway you can try to make a few observing sessions in different conditions (dry/wet, evening/morning, cold/warm), so after that you will be sure about the amounts of dew.
